RESIGNATION FROM ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH SCIENCE WRITERS
Reluctantly, and, I hope, temporarily, I tendered my resignation last week (29.1.10) to the Association of British Science Writers in a personal protest at what I think is a profound lack of professional respect for their members based in the North. That is the one and only reason for my resignation.
I would further urge the ABSW to:
1. Consider offering associate membership status to technology journalists, PR professionals and editors,
2. To respect and encourage a diversity of views,
3. Not to seek to control the communications of it members among the group as a whole - it is the thin edge of the wedge to censorship, sects and personal fiefdoms seeking to exercise control.
